outfits for spring :)

hello there :)

how do normal people know it's spring? the abundance of shorts, flip-flops, and the burden of the end-of-the-year school assignments.

how do i know it's spring? one word: allergies.

yesss.

on a lighter note, here are some of my favorite outfits for this beautiful season :)

steal the look:
basic fitted tee- $3.50 at forever 21
navy floral shorts- $19.80 at forever 21
gold tassel necklace- $5.80 at forever 21
converse

i had some trouble making a set with this one- i had a vision in my head, but i couldn't find the clothes to go with it. i would choose a sheerer boatneck top, but alas, i couldn't find any online. check your local forever 21. also, i wanted a gold necklace that was more of a cluster-y type. again, good old forever 21. anyways, i think this is a cute outfit for those warmer days, and is nice and casual.

steal the look:
beaded lace back top- $25 at forever 21
tan moto jacket- $70 at american eagle outfitters
paris chambray bubble skirt- $15 at delia's
casamento flats- $70 at aldo
intricate petal ring- $3.80 at forever 21

while some of these pieces are a bit of a splurge, i still think that they're worth it. they're not like purple boots, or anything- you'll be able to wear them some other ways too. this is a nice outfit for those chilly spring nights, and if you wanted to, you could always throw on some tights.

steal the look:
pinstripe blazer- $50 at american eagle outfitters
activity v-neck tee- $4.80 at forever 21
exposed lace skinny jeans- $30 at forever 21
leaf tassel necklace- $4.80 at forever 21
tulloch sandals- $45 at aldo

while these shoes might not be the best choice, i still really like this outfit. i really like the combination of blazers with black jeans because i think it adds a nice edgy touch to the whole boyfriend look. the pink stripes on the blazer help to make it a little more girly.

all for now :)

love you

HOW TO WEAR; skinny jeans

hey dolls :)

sorry about that random picture below...

So this is on a very requested topic- how to wear skinny jeans.

Skinny jeans are one of those trendy items this season. They go with virtually anything, and they can add a bit of style to almost any outfit. That being said, I've seen some pretty bad renditions of the skinny jean in my years...

Generally speaking, skinny jeans tend to look with more flowy tops, because they can help to add some definition to your figure

Megan Fox wears them with a nice simple flowy floral top, and see how cute it looks? Throw on a leather jacket, and you're set.

Here they're worn with some over the knee boots for an easy casual look. It's still fashionable though. There's a fine line :)

just a quick post for you guys while I avoid studying for finals... sigh

TREND REPORT: Dolman Sleeves

Hey there :)

So one of this season's hottest trends is the dolman sleeve. What it is is a sleeve that has a very large armhole, and a tight cuff. They are *incredibly* popular for sweaters and t'shirts right now
. The one in the above picture also has a cowl neck, but I'll get into that some other time.

If you are petite like me, you want to steer away from dolman tops that are turtlenecks- they're not going to do anything to elongate your torso, and can make you look wider than you actually are. If you have larger arms, then dolman tops are perfect for you- the way they fall (nice and drapey) is very forgiving!

One of the best ways to wear a dolman sleeve shirt is also the simplest; just wear it with some skinny jeans or leggings and boots. The idea is to have a fitting bottom, so it's a nice contrast.

You can find dolman tops in several different items- jackets, cardigans, and shirts. All of them are good pieces to have, and you can find them in many different stores. My personal favorite is this one: http://www.tobi.com/product/15461-free-people-textured-dolman-cardigan-sweaters?color_id=18550&cmp=shp
While it's a little pricey, it would look great with just a simple t'shirt and jeans.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading :)

Must Haves for Your Fall Wardrobe (American Eagle- Tops)

A bunch of you have asked me to do a must haves collection for my favorite stores. Since I love so many stores, and the clothes they have, I had to divide it into many parts. Here's the first!Graphic scoop-necks are absolutely essential

Animal prints are very in this season. Who never liked tiger print, anyways?

Bold tops can really flatter your figure if you're on the larger side
Necklace shirts are very in, and I think they're just so cute!

Embellished tanks are a great thing to have because you can layer them so many different ways. They're also all over the runway

Another great example of an embelished tank.

Plaid is this season's must have print. Ruffles never hurt anyone too...

Perfect for layering over a graphic t'

Also good for layering
Cable neck sweater's are great to have because you can layer them with different tanks. Great for the later fall months

How gorgeous is this cardigan?
I love the color combination of navy blue and white

This cardigan is adorable

I'm not a huge fan of logo t's, but I thought this one was cute

It's true...:)

Now, isn't this pretty?!

How to Customize Your School Uniform

Now that school's started and everything, I've decided to do a little piece on how to make your school uniform something very 'you'!

TIGHTS

Take some inspiration from Gossip Girl and pair bright tights underneath your skirt. Another cute look is to pair some floral tights (trend alert!) underneath your skirt. Can we say savvy?

HEADBANDS

Try some cute tortoise ones for a preppy look, or pair a polka dot one for something a tad more different. Either way, don't let something as versatile as a headband go to waste!

JEWELRY

I think that most uniform-wearers don't understand how close of a friend jewelry should be for them! Statement necklaces look gorgeous with those hideous sweater vests that we have to wear!
